About Me

I’m Elora. Twenty-two. I live in this Godsend called Washington.
It’s probably a little presumptuous to say that I don’t suppose you could ever know me from the words I type into this little box, and I always go into a bit too much detail, but I figure you’ll decide for yourself how much (or little) you want to invest in me. Either way, I won’t try to change your mind. I only want you here if you want to be here, I don’t waste my time on the rest.
I initially started this blog in an attempt to start living in the present — Elora lives in the here and now. But I suppose I haven’t done a very good job of that, as I am still just as lost as ever. And the funny thing is, I’m so exponentially unaware of where my standing is in this life, and what I offer this world, but I am so blatantly aware of who I am, as a person, as a young woman. Driven, passionate, intelligent, adventuresome, beautiful, and probably (undoubtedly) crazy, though I’ve not decided if that’s a positive or negative trait yet.
I’m single, always, yet a bit unattainable, as I always seem to be unavailable, for one reason or another. I don’t believe in soulmates (although, I have some incredibly long-lasting friendships that are probably the closest I’ll subscribe to the idea of “soulmates”) and I’m not waiting for the dashing Prince Charming to come and sweep me off my feet. But I do love love, and romance, and everything it entails. Even heartache. Some beautiful things transpired in my life only after an immensely painful heartbreak.
My favorite band is Incubus (it has been for the last twelve years). But I take a break from that often, my musical tastes are a bit eclectic and I have no problems admitting that, yes, sometimes I listen to complete and utter crap. I like what I like. I’m a freelance MUA, blogger and runner. I’m a bit of a girly-girl on the outside, but I’ve got major tomboy tendencies. I like camping, hiking, boating, wakeboarding, snowboarding, reading, writing, movies, and chill time with friends.
My biggest passion is in writing. I’m no English major, nothing I write is particularly amazing, but I enjoy it with every ounce of my being. I mostly post more straight-forward blogs, but my favorite way to express myself is by taking real moments from my life and putting a fictional twist on them. You can see examples of that here:
It’s Routine
Before You Were You
Favorite Read
You Make a Beautiful Bride
I’m at a weird place in my life right now. I haven’t been more inspired and less motivated, happier, sadder, lonelier, more reckless and stressed. It’s hard, some days are better than others. I’ve made a lot of mistakes. But I wouldn’t trade this life for the world, because I put everything I have into it on a daily basis.
This blog is my creative outlet, I suppose. I use it to vent, to express myself and to give others a little bit of insight into who I am.
I’m workin’ it out. I promise you can, too.
